HBK180IGSE
Guys quick question i think its on the forum somewhere...
What is the prefered brand of Diesel petrol to use in the Cupra TDis?

I use only 50ppm. But I try to stick to one garage that is relatively new (so it has new tanks without corrosion) and that's busy as not to get old diesel. People say they find a difference but to me its not conclusive.

The General rule of thumb is use only 50ppm diesel
from a very busy garage , IE yes ensures that you only get fresh stock

I opened an account at Auto commodities , they supply all the major Garages in the west rand , Plus the diesel is a bit cheaper

50ppm I use Shell or Sasol.

Some of the others make tonnes of black smoke.
I have noticed big differences in power form different brands, unlike petrol where I never noticed any difference.
I agree with the sasol getting good mileage.

There are times when i have to put 500ppm but I try and put in only R100 to get me to a garage where I can get 50ppm

I have always been using Sasol 50ppm and if I really can't find a Sasol I will use either BP or Shell.

I know this a rather old post but just for sake of sharing info,

Especially when you are in the Gauteng region most petroleum companies make use of the Sasol as a supply for (as we say in IT "vanilla"Wink fuel because most of their refineries are costal based.

They then just add their own additives at heir depos.

If you cant find a Sasol garage close to you then you can use a engine garage their 95 octane and lo sulphur diesel is a direct supply from Sasol refineries due to a agreement between them back when Sasol converted almost all excel and some engine filling stations to sasol filling stations.

I also prefer the Sasol diesel and if a garage is too far i can still fill in at a engine with a smile
.
