Software on IC TDI
villanBooSt
hey peeps :)

So after much research and chats and A LOT of patience, i have my car booked in for my REVO Stage 1 with CRS Pit stop in Boksburg on Thursday!!

my question is do you think it is wise to dyno my car before and after the upgrade? and where is a good place close to me to dyno, i am in the Benoni, Kempton, Boksburg side.. i have used Ross at RBTS Racing before but he charges quite a bit per dyno..

any suggestions would be great!

Why don't you try KAR, they are in Kempton Park,

Most people go there for a before and after run and Shane is very helpful.

Congrats on the software by the way, I am still contemplating sending mine in.

VillianBoost did you get your software on the special, so you get 20% off with the free SPS?

Yeah definitely use KAR for dyno figures.

i see most guys going to KAR, i have tried to phone them but no answer..

RBTS is R250 per dyno..

@Vdub- bud i have been researching and asking alot of question the last 3 months and it seems like once software is done your car is transformed into the car it should have been brought out to be stock, including you get better km per tank and it seems a whole load of good things.. not forgetting it also could have bad implications but i have not heard much bad about it! there are many great SW guys around so just research, i will let you know on Thursday if its all they say it is but i bet i am gonna say the same as everyone else Thumbs Up

@Muks- i have already spoken to the guys about it hey! they said i just need DP and CAT removed and i can go for it, as the Cupra intercooler is good enough to handle the power.. Me thinks BIG turbo could come soon first though Stirrrrr

villanBooSt
hubbly i have the TDI so they reckon and from what i hear the SPS switch doesnt do much for the TDI?

i am not to clued up on the whole SPS thing so i might be told wrong info without knowing Thinking

I'd still ask for an SPS as it is part of the deal even though it doesn't work you never know what the future has in store?

Nice MUKS, your car has always been very strong though.

Chucky69, they do work but by only switching the software on and off, it cannot adjust timing, boost and fuel like it can on the petrol cars.

For the most part I think it would be good.

As for figures and stuff like that, dyno's are mostly a thumb suck to get it to wheel power.

A dyno would be best for giving a figure for before and after mods to see how much a difference they will make.

Congrats, I was lucky enough to drive E_CTFSI aka E_CTDI ex IC TDI with Revo1 and it was awesome.

You definitely won't be disappointed.

But what's the use of switching it to stock and back to stg1??
So they don't acctually work on TDi's ;-)

It still works though? You just dont have the adjustability. I used the SPS plenty on our TDI. Plus the switch is worth R2300 so DEFINITELY TAKE IT! Or else they must give you another R2300 off the price! Thumbs Up
